For a bread loving, chocolate eating, enjoy all things about life, type of girl; eating healthy has always been a challenge. I can do crunches, yoga, and keep up like a champ in zumba; but eating is the one thing that I tend to stay away from changing.

If I Don't Like It, I Don't Eat It
One year someone convinced me that eating grapefruits every morning would help me loose weight. I hate grapefruits but I ate them any way because I wanted to loose weight for a wedding. As soon as the wedding was over I stopped eating grapefruits and gained weight back. I decided, if I don't like it, I am not eating it. If it doesn't fit into my lifestyle, I am not going to force myself. I dislike grapefruits, cooked spinach, broccoli, & peanuts... and that's ok. I LOVE berries, apples, mangos, almonds, pistachios, romaine lettuce, and as of recently bell peppers. We must stop forcing ourselves to do things we hate, then growing bitter when the results don't last. It's a lifestyle!
Give It A Second Chance
Ever since I was a child I had the things I did and didn't like. Once I didn't like something I knew it, so I didn't see the reasoning for trying it again. I have always hated jelly... ALWAYS. I was visiting a friend in California and she made me a bagel with cream cheese and jam. To me jam & jelly were the same; but i didn't want to not eat it, so i took a bite.... & LOVED IT! After that life altering moment, I wrote down all of the things I "hated" and re-tried them. Some, still disgusting but some things I was pleasantly surprised about. Your taste buds do change over time; so give some foods a second chance.
Last Call 2am
OK... maybe not 2 am, but 8 pm. If I get hungry past 8 pm, I can only snack on veggies or peanut putter. Late night snacking is what kicks us in the butt, because you grab what you don't have to do anything to prepare; which is most likely processed and full of sugar. This little change will improve your quality of sleep and help you wake up with more energy.
Eat & Fellowship
If you fellowship while you are eating you normally give your food proper time to digest & you realize when you are full. Food truely brings people together, it gives you a chance to try new things, and to bless others.
Not the Enemy
Some people think food is the enemy because they are not their desired size; this is simply not true. Food is wonderful and created to be enjoyed but it's most likely the way we go about selecting foods.

to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”
