After
writing the blog post on fear I was asked many questions and wanted to share
some of the questions and how I have processed them in my life.
How
do you get over the fear pattern? (It ALWAYS ends the same)
- We must be on the same
page with God as it applied to our season of life & people in our
life. God brings people into your life with purpose, to mold you and shape
you. NO, they won’t all be lifetime besties but they may be in this season
“your” people.
- TRUST GOD, people will hurt
you & you will hurt people. You know when someone is supposed to be in
your life. You just have to trust God that it is for your good. You choose
to stay vulnerable and work to remain open when you are hurt because THEY
are worth it.
Isn’t
it easier to just be alone?
- The quote from CS Lewis
talks about this but to expand, yes it’s easier. (simply put)
- But you will enjoy
less, love no one and no one will know you. You WILL most defiantly have
regrets in this life. Planning to do life alone is planning to be
miserable. To avoid people to avoid pain is inviting a very different
hurt but you will be alone in dealing with it.
Decision-
expound on making decisions out of fear
- Fear
is a filter through which decisions are sifted leaving loneliness and an emptiness
that only love can fill.
- When you make a decision
out of fear you feel good for awhile then you realize you have secluded
yourself and locked doors. You feel “safe” from people but vulnerable to
attack. The saying “I got your back comes to mind” if it’s just you…. No
one has your back, leaving you unprotected.
What
do you do when you realize you have made a decision out of fear?
- I haven’t mastered this
yet. Maybe I never will
- Ideally I would be
humble, say I was wrong. Not expecting a certain outcome but love is
humble and it covers a multitude of sins.
- Take steps and be
vulnerable with God and people.
