thoughts on today

I wanted wood floors to walk on in warm socks,

or a field of flowers on which to dance.

I wanted to drive in a open air jeep so I could feel the wind,

or sail in a boat where there are no limits.

I wished that people smiled because they loved life,

And I wish we all knew each others stories.

I wanted today to be a day where I did nothing I didn't want to do

and bliss marked every passing minute.

But that wasn't my today.

My today was filled with laughter… my dads laugh is the best,

And my sister told me she loved me… I know she means it.

I realized my car needs some work, but I am thankful for my car.

that my bank account is running low, but money isn't everything.

I work a 10 to 6 job, but I love my job... every minute of it.

I greeted the open road

and took every chance to adventure the unpaved ones.

Today was perfect because it wasn't a dream or a wish; 

it was a beautiful life, lived well.

tell those in your life you are thankful for them, 

that you love them. 

Enjoy the life you live right now. 

These moments now, they are the best ones.
